Viewpoint Vuurboetsdune west side
The Vuurboetsduin is the highest dune in Vlieland, which is also home to Vlieland´s lighthouse.
If you go up the path to the lighthouse from the gully on the post road, you will come across a turning to the left after about 280m. There is also a signpost indicating ´Uitzichttoren´. Just before the gate, turn left. Go into that path, after about 70m there is a staircase to the right, up to the bottom of the watchtower.
From this watchtower, you look at the west side of the island. You can see the forest of Lange Paal and if it is clear you can also see Texel. On the southwest side is the Wadden Sea and on the northwest side is the North Sea.
Tip: bring binoculars....
