Outdoor activities on Vlieland

Almost everybody who comes to Vlieland comes to enjoy the outdoor life! Vlielandg’s nature – the beach, the dunes, the Mudflats (Wad), woods and polder – has its charms in every season.

Most activities are possible throughout the year. Such as:

  • walking on the beach, through the dunes or in the woods
  • cycling on the bicycle paths that criss-cross Vlieland
  • seeing Vlieland from the back of a horse or with the horse and carriage
  • sea fishing or seal trips

    There are also typical Vlieland activities, such as:

  • a trip to ´de Vliehors´ with ´de Vliehors Expres´
  • beach sailing and riding buggies, archery, seal trips, kite flying and survival trips

    You can register for most of the arranged activities. This is especially recommended when it is in season because there could be limited places. However, it is also advisable even when not in season, as some activities only take place when there are sufficient numbers.
