The Water route on Vlieland tells the story of water on and under Vlieland

Starting point of this walking and cycling route is the tourist office opposite the boat. The route leads you along many beautiful places on Vlieland and a number of installations which tell the story of the water on, under and above Vlieland. Also very nice for children!

Accessible from sunrise to sunset.

3 times a week, guests may take a look at the Finch Run on Vlieland, where bird ringers catch, ring and examine birds.

The Finch Run is open approximately from mid-August to mid-November and can be visited on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from 11-12am. Check site for current opening hours.

You will find the Finch Run in the Crown´s polders (see map). The entrance is on the west side close to the camp.

The Vlieland Cranberry season has started. Anyone can pick by hand from Thursday 15 September to 30 November. From 9:00 to 18:00 hours. For picking by hand no permit is needed. For picking with the comb/picker, you need a permit.

Marleen Lever-van de Wielen, a goldsmith from Vlieland, is the Zilverjutter.
The jeweller makes her designed and created (wedding) jewellery in the shop in both silver and gold. This can of course also be done in combination with gemstones or resin. Found amber can also be processed into jewellery.

There is also a wide range of camping items such as wooden pegs, gas bottles and cooling elements. And there is a wide range of beach equipment. To reserve a gas bottle, let us know a week before you come to Stortemelk at winkel@stortemelk.nl when you want to collect it. We will then have it ready for you at the shop on the desired date.
