From the mudapartment dike on the south side of Vlieland, you can walk onto the mudapartments at low tide. It is not possible to walk across the mudapartments from Frisian coast to Vlieland. The channels are too deep and the distance too great for that. Wadlopen is a very special experience.
From holiday accommodation in the village you can easily get to the Wadden dyke to look out over the mud apartments and (carefully) explore the Wad.
Visitor centre the North West provides Wad excursions.

`t Wadhuys with its own private grounds is centrally situated in the Dorpsstraat, close to restaurants, shops and the Wadden Sea.
It is approximately 1000 meters from the beach.
De Wadloper is half of a semi-detached house together with de Steltloper and sits on its own private grounds (700m2) on the edge of de Ankerplaats in the dunes of Vlieland.
It is just a 2 minute walk from the sandy beach.
Wakend Oog - Boven is the upper half of a semi-detached house with Beneden and sits on its own private grounds in the dunes of duinkersoord.
The house is approximately 250 metres from the beach.
Ankerlicht lies among the dunes of De Ankerplaats.
The cottage is located in private grounds.
The beach is about 150 metres away from the cottage.
