`Sea Fever` is a compelling song recital about the sea, horizons
and human passion.
Baritone Tim Kuypers - for years associated
with the Bayerische Staatsoper and to be heard on major international
stages - together with top pianist Maurice Lammerts van Bueren brings
a colourful programme full of undulating melodies and dramatic
narratives.
Sea Fever takes you along rugged coastlines, still
waters and mythical sea stories, with songs by Liszt, Loewe, Schubert,
Brahms, Faure and Finzi, among others.
Kuypers` warm,
expressive voice and his experience in both opera and Lieder give this
music a special intensity. Lammerts van Bueren, one of the
Netherlands` most celebrated song pianists, completes the story with
his refined and narrative playing. Together, they create an evening in
the Nicolaaskerk full of poetry, power and stillness - a musical
journey in which the sea comes to life in all its forms.
